About the area
A mountain that runs into the sea, with stone villages on the slope and beaches at the bottom of it. Volos and its airport are the way in; Athens is a straight run up the motorway. It is the one region on our list where the house is as likely to sit under chestnut trees as on a beach — traditional stone architecture, protected in most of the villages, and a winter that is a real winter.
